One person reads this address and answers it, in English or Russian, normally within two business days. There is no queue, no ticket number and nobody else to be transferred to.

What to send

The fastest answer comes from three things: the version of Amarkal (Amarkal → About), your macOS version, and what you were doing when it went wrong.

If something misbehaved, use Amarkal → Send Feedback in the app. It opens a message with the version details already filled in and can attach a short log of the last few minutes of activity — our own log lines only, never the contents of your vault. You can read the whole thing before you send it, and delete anything you would rather not include.

Questions that come up most

I forgot my passphrase. Can you reset it?

No, and this is the one limit worth understanding before you buy. Your vault is encrypted on your Mac with a key derived from your passphrase, and we never receive that key — so there is nothing on our side to reset with. What does open a vault again is the 24-word recovery phrase Amarkal gave you when you created it. Keep it somewhere that is not your Mac.

How do I cancel or change Amarkal Sync?

Amarkal Sync is an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple, so it is managed in your Apple Account rather than in our app: apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions, which opens the App Store on a Mac. Settings → Account in Amarkal has a button that takes you straight there. Cancelling stops future charges and never locks you out of your own vault — the app keeps working, it simply stops syncing when the paid period ends.

I want a refund.

Purchases go through the Mac App Store, so refunds are Apple's to give: reportaproblem.apple.com. Our position on them is on the refund page. If Apple turns you down and you believe the app did not do what we said it does, write to us anyway.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. It removes the account and everything our servers hold for it, and you do not need to write to anyone to have it done. The copy of the vault on your Mac is yours and is left alone; there is a separate action for removing that.

Where is my data kept?

Wherever you chose in Settings → Data & Sync: only on this Mac, in a folder you already sync, on your own WebDAV or S3-compatible server, or in Amarkal Sync. Everything is encrypted on your Mac before it goes anywhere. If you keep it in your own storage, the app makes no requests to us in normal use.

What does it run on?

macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel.
